The Filmklubb Offenbach is a place where people come together to experience film, art, literature and music over food and drinks. It was founded in 2012 and is a well-kept gem at Isenburgring 36, located in a backyard in the immediate vicinity of the Sana Clinic, not far from Offenbach’s Westend and Senefelder Quarter.
The Filmklubb is well connected to public transportation and is only a few minutes’ walk from Offenbach’s main train station. Detailed directions can be found on our website. Instead of rows of seats, you sit casually on vintage furniture and at small tables. The Filmklubb serves Portuguese wines and various Mediterranean dishes and snacks, including an excellent fish soup as well as delicious vegetarian dishes.
The Filmklubb Offenbach was awarded the Culture Prize of the City of Offenbach am Main in 2023 and the Hessian Cinema Prize in 2023 and 2024. It was always clear to us that this was the perfect place for a cozy festival of Portuguese-language film. We never wanted to go anywhere else.
We love the Mediterranean flair of the Filmklubb and the way it builds a bridge to the tradition of cineclubs in the Portuguese-speaking world. It’s simply a relaxed place with a great atmosphere that made us feel at home from the very first moment. Compared to the opulent cinemas in other countries, the Filmklubb may be a little cozy. For us, it is the perfect festival center with a lot of heart and a big screen. At the first edition of LusOFest 2025, four screenings of short and feature-length films will be shown here.
