At LusOFest, short films by filmmakers from the Rhine-Main region are screened alongside international productions from the Lusophone world. All submitted short films had to be under 20 minutes in length. All films in Portuguese are shown with subtitles – mostly in English. The short films featured at LusOFest take part in a competition and are eligible to win either the Audience Award or the Jury Prize.

On Saturday, our late-night program will feature animated films and fictional shorts. The submitted films were not required to follow this year’s festival motto, “Be water, my friend,” as it was only announced during the submission phase. Q&A sessions with the filmmakers in attendance will take place at the end of each respective film block. In the final session, we will showcase a selection of entries from the horror and suspense genres. Admission to all screenings at 57Nord is free, but we welcome on-site donations and pre-registration via Eventbrite or the Facebook-Event.
