During the Kunstansichten weekend from May 29 to 31, 2026, 57Nord is organizing a group exhibition for artists who were not selected for the major citywide cultural event in Offenbach. Applications, including up to two images, can be submitted on May 21 and 22, 2026. Information can be found on the 57Nord website, its social media channels, or the 57Nord podcast (German).
In addition to the group exhibition, 57Nord will host a supporting program of concerts, poetry slams, and films throughout the weekend. On Friday, May 29, 2026, starting at 9:00 PM, we will be curating a short film program (approx. 45 minutes) featuring three Lusophone films on the theme “We’re Working on It.” We chose the theme of work as a bridge to the documentary “Stone by Stone” by Adrianna Spyrou, which will be screened at 8:00 PM prior to our program. The Greek documentary focuses on the construction workers involved in bridge building. The event begins at 7:00 PM with a concert by the Offenbach-based musician Fontes.

21h00 – LusOFest Kurzansichten «We gonna work it out!»
- »Wander« (Vagar) Federico Cordeiro Ferreira, Portugal 2025, 6’, OV with English subtitles

The photo film «Wander» by Portuguese filmmaker and photographer Federico Cordeiro Ferreira treads a fine line between documentary and poetic art film. It depicts disappearing local shops, thereby documenting traditional crafts that are also increasingly vanishing in Portugal. The documentary «This Kind of Woman» follows Portuguese women working in professions widely considered male-dominated. «Homessek» is a short film by a Brazilian (cast, direction) and German (cinematography) team that depicts the difficulties of finding housing in Lisbon from a migrant’s perspective. The film combines a fictional story with footage of real demonstrations.
There are ample breaks between program items, allowing you to visit the group exhibition. It’s perfectly fine to arrive late or leave early (while being considerate of the other audience members) between blocks, films, and program items. Admission is free! To help us plan, we’d appreciate it if you could register via Eventbrite or the Facebook event – there’s no obligation to attend. Thank you!
