Lots and lots of short 57Nordern lights. At the first LusOFest, we are showing short films by filmmakers from the Rhine-Main region, together with international productions from the Portuguese-speaking world. The submitted short films all had to be under 20 minutes long, but could come from any discipline (fiction, documentary, experimental, animation, music video, etc.).
On Saturday night, 25 January 2025, we will be showing a hand-picked selection of short films in several blocks at the late show at 57Nord in an intimate screening, competing for the first LusOFest Audience Award. Admission is free (donations are welcome!), the setting is casual. We are transforming the 57Nord Art Space into a cosy penny cinema, where fluid coming and going between films and screening blocks is explicitly allowed.
Nothing to be afraid of? A small trigger warning or, depending on your point of view, an incentive for latecomers: in the last block, after midnight, we will also show a small selection of the best competition entries in the horror genre that we have received.

The programme has only recently been finalised, so minor additions and adjustments to the exact order are still possible. We will show the programme in four blocks with three short breaks. Of course, it is perfectly possible to come and go between the blocks or films at this low-threshold, long screening at 57Nord.
